Premium Spice Blends
Every blend has its own personality and will bring something special and unique to the table. All are gluten free and vegan friendly.
- Ras el Hanout – In Morocco, ‘ras el hanout’ means ‘the best of the best’. It contains no less than 24 exotic spices for a delightfully complex flavour profile that works beautifully with lamb and chicken or to flavour rice or couscous.
- Chermoula – Lemon, paprika and cumin make up the Chermoula blend which has been created for marinades and rubs. Use on fish, seafood and chicken.
- Tajine Spice – A Tunisian blend with 16 herbs and spices. It features the fire of chilli, the freshness of lemon and the depth of garlic and tomato. Use in a heated marinade or serve with couscous.
- Harissa – Also from Tunisia, Harissa is a gorgeous red blend of peppers, tomato, garlic, cumin and lemon juice. Add to dips, sauces and marinades or mix with butter for an interesting slant on garlic bread.
- Zahtar – This classic Middle Eastern herb and spice blend is hugely versatile. It features thyme, sumac and sesame seed and can be sprinkled over pita breads with a drizzle of oil before crisping in the oven. Or, add to marinades for chicken or fish.
- Berbere – From Ethiopia comes this rich and complex blend of 15 spices including ginger, cumin and paprika. Hot and spicy, it’s ideal for flavouring stews or can be used as a meat rub.
- Baharat – A traditional North African blend, Baharat contains 15 herbs and spices including cardamom, cloves and bell peppers. Use as a rub for a lamb roast or try it with chicken dishes, beef or fish.
- Jerk Spice – The taste of the Caribbean! Like a party on a plate, any chicken or pork flavoured with Alexandra’s Jerk Spice will burst with flavour. It contains all-spice, thyme and chilli and is hot and spicy so try it on a good rack of ribs.
Dukkah
Alexandra’s Dukkah range boasts premium nuts, fresh herbs and stone-ground spices. Use dukkah in breadcrumb mixes and stuffing, sprinkle over salads or simply serve with artisan bread and olive oil.
- Dukkah Traditional – 10 fresh herbs, spices and nuts including roasted sesame seeds, premium hazelnuts, cumin and coriander.
- Dukkah Aromatic – 11 fragrant ingredients including almonds, pistachios, roasted sesame seeds, fennel and coriander.
- Dukkah Piquant – A lovely, spicy blend of 14 ingredients including almonds, hazelnuts, roasted sesame seeds, paprika, coriander and chilli.
Gourmet Salts
Alexandra’s also offers two types of salt to enhance your dishes with extra gourmet goodness.
- Fisherman’s Salt – Alexandra’s own recipe of parsley, dill and New Zealand lemons, blended through famous Marlborough flaky sea salt. Fabulous with all seafood and fish dishes.
- Black Garlic Flaky Sea Salt – Sustainable, organic New Zealand salt infused with black garlic which has a sweet, syrupy flavour and hints of balsamic vinegar.
